The International Rafting Federation holds the World Rafting Championships every year. The IRF has got a very long history starting from the 1980s and nowadays it is a global organisation. The World Rafting Championships are governed by the IRF, that works closely with national organisations and government bodies and offers the only raft guide certification program accepted worldwide.
