Scott und Bailey untersuchen den Vermisstenfall von Kenneth Valentine. Während ihrer Ermittlungen stoßen sie in einer verlassenen Gasse auf die Leiche des älteren Mannes. Ein erster Verdacht fällt auf den Sohn des Toten, der zuvor die fragwürdige Vermisstenanzeige aufgegeben hat. Unterdessen wird die Freundschaft der Polizistinnen auf eine harte Probe gestellt, als Rachel eine Affäre mit einem Arbeitskollegen beginnt.
