Can Europe's steel industry compete with China?
Europe's largest steelworks is in crisis. ThyssenKrupp wants to cut more than 10,000 jobs or outsource them. The reasons are high energy prices in Germany and an extreme price war with China, which is bringing its overcapacity to the market cheaply. And if Chinese steel can no longer be sold to the USA due to the high tariffs, even more of it could end up in Europe.
