Im Juni 1977 begegnete ein Pilot 1.500 Meter über dem Castelo de Bode-Staudamm einem riesigen unbekannten Flugobjekt. Noch bevor ihm klar wurde, was er gesehen hatte, begann die Kompassnadel seines Flugzeugs zu rotieren und die Maschine ging in einen unkontrollierten Sinkflug. 1979 berichtete ein Förster, er habe ein UFO auf einer einsamen Lichtung gesehen. Kurz darauf verlor er das Bewusstsein.
