Der als "Hollywood Ripper" und "Chiller Killer" bekannte Michael Gargiulo stammt aus Illinois, wo er seine Nachbarin erstach. 2001 stach er 47-mal auf Ashley Ellerin in ihrem Haus in Hollywood ein. Im Dezember 2005 erstach Gargiulo seine Nachbarin in ihrem Haus in El Monte, Kalifornien. Auf sie wurde 17-mal eingestochen. 2008 versuchte Gargiulo, eine andere Nachbarin zu ermorden. Gargiulo wurde wegen zweier Morde angeklagt, andere Taten konnten ihm nicht nachgewiesen werden.
